Writing from the Nexus: Diplomacy, Environment, and Technology

Published 20 August 2026

This site now has a dedicated space for articles and papers, and this first post is a short note on what it is for.

I have spent one career in international relations and environmental work — including consulting on communications for the United Nations — and another in technology, building websites and digital platforms. For years those worlds barely spoke to each other. Today they are inseparable: climate negotiations run on shared data infrastructures, environmental campaigns live or die by their digital reach, and the tools we build quietly encode policy decisions that used to be made in conference rooms.

The writing here will sit deliberately on that seam. Expect pieces on how international institutions adopt (and resist) technology, what environmental policy can learn from software practice, how to communicate scientific and political complexity across cultures, and occasional longer papers that dig into a single question properly.

If that intersection interests you too, subscribe to the newsletter below — new articles and papers will land there first.
